Inquiries & Estimates
If you’d like to inquire about restoring an object, please send an email with a few clear photographs, the approximate dimensions, and any helpful details.
A broad initial estimate can be provided once clear photographs of the damaged object are received. However, a final and confirmed quote can only be issued after the object has been examined in person.
Studio Location
The studio is located in the Outer Richmond district of San Francisco. The full address is provided once an appointment is arranged. Pick up and drop off service is also available.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you provide estimates over the phone?
No, estimates are not given over the phone. Please send an email to derrincompton@gmail.com with clear photographs of the damaged object, its dimensions, and any relevant details.
An approximate cost can then be provided and later confirmed once the object has been examined in the studio.
What is your turnaround time?
The timeframe depends on the current workload and the complexity of the treatment required. If you have a specific deadline, please let me know as early as possible and I will do my best to accommodate it where feasible.
How can I make payment?
An initial deposit is due upon object intake which covers a condition assessment, treatment proposal and cost estimate. The non-refundable deposit is applied toward the conservation work should you choose to move forward.
Final payment is due on or before object collection, once the treatment has been completed. Invoices are issued and must be settled within 30 days of the invoice date. Please note that card payments are not accepted.
What should I do with my broken object?
Avoid attempting to fit the pieces back together, as this may damage the clean break edges and potentially increase repair costs.
Gather all fragments and wrap them in paper towels or tissue paper. Collect even the smallest fragments in a small bag or envelope to ensure the best possible restoration outcome.
